  • Author: Emily
  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: About 1½ cups 1x

Description

Cajun cream sauce is rich, smoky, and ready in 5 minutes. Perfect for tossing with pasta, spooning over shrimp, or elevating roasted vegetables.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • ¼ cup chopped onion (optional)

  • 1½ tbsp Cajun seasoning

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • Optional:

    • ¼ cup grated parmesan

    • 1 tsp tomato paste

    • Splash of broth or white wine

    • Pinch of cayenne

    • 1 tbsp cream cheese

Instructions

  • Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.

  • Add garlic and onion; sauté until soft and fragrant.

  • Stir in Cajun seasoning and cook for 30 seconds.

  • Pour in heavy cream slowly, stirring to combine.

  • Let it simmer 5–7 minutes, until thick and creamy.

  • Adjust flavor: add salt, pepper, cream cheese, or cayenne.

  • Serve over pasta, shrimp, rice, or roasted vegetables.

Notes

  • Sauce keeps in fridge up to 4 days.

  • Reheat gently on low heat—add broth or milk if too thick.

  • For a milder sauce, reduce Cajun seasoning or mix in extra cream.

  • Can be frozen, but may need whisking when reheated.
